Parliament Finally Gives Hawa Koomson The Nod To Become Minister Of Fisheries And Aquaculture

The past weeks have been filled with a lot of activities happening in the country. There was the ministerial vetting of the minister designates, the arrival of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines and the taking of the first jabs by some prominent people.

Today, the parliament sat once again to deliberate over some minister designates that have been rejected by the NDC caucus of the parliament. These rejected list included Mavis Hawa Koomson, minister designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, minister designate for Information and a few other designates.

During Mavis Hawa Koomson's vetting, most of the Ghanaian populace complained about how she spoke her English. Some said she could not articulate the English Language with proficiency hence considering her not fit for the job.

A Yes or No ballot was held in parliament to know the people who wanted her to be the new minister. Here are the results. 161 voted in her favor and 104 voted against her.

What do you think about the parliament's decision to keep Mavis Hawa Koomson? Do you agree with the decisions taken?
