Overcome The Toxic Politics, Let’s Pull Together To Bring Back The Economy – PNC

Janet Asana Nabla, the General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC) is urging Ghanaians to overcome the toxic politics, agree to come together and work with unity of purpose to bring the country’s economy back.

Everybody must ensure that they criticize constructively and to come up with alternative solutions.

“It should not be about shouting and giving all sorts of reasons why something is not going to work. If it is not going to work, how do we make it work?” She is asking all the opposition political parties and other civil society organisations to join hands with the government to stabilize the economy which has gone into a tailspin and to put it on even keel.

Janet Asana Nabla expressed her party’s discomfort with the situation where politicians tend to put selfish political agenda ahead of the general good of the society and said that needed to change.

It is important that “we put Ghana at the heart of the thinking and everything that we do”. The PNC General Secretary applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his sincerity and the statesmanship he exhibited in his State of the Nation Address (SONA).

She said the President’s courage to admit that Ghanaians are going through economic hard times was something her party found admirable.

“It was a show of good leadership when the government in recent times cut down on its expenditure, which has given it the moral right to call on the citizenry to appreciate its efforts in dealing with the situation.”

She urged the government to continue to work hard and to make the right decisions to make things better for the people.

Janet Asana Nabla encouraged the government to put more money into agriculture by rehabilitating and building more irrigation dams to aid all-year-round farming to boost food security.
