Ban on Galamsey Has Really Affected Our Business - Prestea Women Tell The Media

Market men and women in Prestea surb of the Prestea Huni Valley municipality in the Western said the ban on illegal mining (galamsey) has really affected their business.

Prestea is one of the biggest mining town in Ghana and most of them practice the illegal mining (galamsey) as their daily activity.

According to them during an interview with Abdullah Korenteng on December 24, they said that, the president ban on galamsey has reduced the rate of buying in the market because people has no money to purchase product.

"Most buyers in the market are complaining about money as the results of the Collapsed of the illegal mining." They said .

The government should have met y and life the ban for the betterment of our business for the galamseyers will die in poverty.

"We are appealing to the government led by H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akoffo Addo to lift the ban as has been voted into office for the second time to boost the economy in Prestea and Ghana at large."they added.
