MP For Bongo Constituency 'hits' Hard On The High Cost Of Fuel In Ghana

The Honorable Member of Parliament for Bong Constituency, Hon. Edward Bawa , has added to voice to the current high cost of fuel in the country.

According to him, the current high cost of fuel in Ghana is crippling the transport business; and that, drivers in the country are wailing; due to the impact of high fuel prices on their businesses.

Speaking on TV3, Honorable Bawa, who is also the member of the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, said that, “Talk to any taxi driver, they will tell you their business is collapsing. A reduction in fuel prices has a direct impact on inflation”.

In a related story captures on TV3 News, "the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), has said they are looking at increasing transport fares by 15 per cent"Meanwhile, "the Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU Alhaji Abass Imoro also said on the Key Points that they are waiting to reach an agreement with the Ministry of Transport before announcing the increment.

He added that, “We are looking at increasing the transport fares by 15 percent. We are waiting on the transport ministry so that we reach a consensus.”
