The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it disagrees with the Electoral Commission Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensah on the proposal to close polls at 3pm in the December 2024 general elections and other future elections.
According to The National Democratic Congress Party NDC, the farmers who may want to go to farms and return before they could cast their votes will affect them. This because they leave early morning and return evening.
The National Democratic Congress Party NDC'S did not participate in the IPAC meeting. This move is to help the delay counting of votes and declaration of results at the various polling stations

Political Parties that participate in the IPAC meeting includes, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), People’s National Convention (PNC), Convention People’s Party (CPP), Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM).
