Head Of Political Science department at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration ( GIMPA) Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Budu has highlighted a very distasteful action against Speaker of Parliament Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
He made this known in an exclusive interview with Asaase radio as same was published on their website.
According to Dr Kwaku Agyemang Budu, if it's established that Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin infringed on the 1992 Constitution to illegally disapprove the 2022 budget, then he should prepare.
This is because, if any citizen takes him on at the Supreme Court with concrete evidence, the consequence is jail not less than 10 years. He added that, the Supreme Court of Ghana is having the authority to overturn any decision of the Parliament if found to be unconstitutional.
That means, if the current trend of "budget fight" lands in the court, the leader of the Parliament House will be hot.
Few days ago, the opposition National Democratic Congress MPs threw away the 2022 budget adoption. An action the majority feels that, it's illegal and unconstitutional.
