Do You Want To Be The Chairman Or President?; Check Out The Brilliant Response Of Asiedu Nketsia.

The focus of most Ghanaians are fixed on the Presidential election race in 2024. Internally, all the political parties have the core mantle to select their national and branch executives within their own stipulated time ahead of the main general Presidential and Parliamentary elections. Recently, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress joined the host of the "State of Affairs" show Francis Abban on GH One. They deliberated on crucial national issues.

Diverting from these issue, Francis Abban curiously enquired from Johnson Asiedu Nketsia if he wanted to be the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress or the President of the Republic of Ghana. "Do you want to be Chairman of NDC or President?", Francis Abban questioned.

In response, Asiedu Nketsia counter questioned the host of the show that why did he not ask if he (Johnson Asiedu Nketsia), wanted to be the branch executive of the National Democratic Congress.

"Why are you not asking whether I want to be the branch executive of the National Democratic Congress? In politics, we do not grow pass any post. I am saying that there is no age limit in politics. All the other options are available. We are not there yet.", Asiedu Nketsia stated.

The host still insisted on his question and Johnson explained that he is not done with his responsibility as the General Secretary, thus he can't disclose his intentions. He concluded by stating that he cannot talk about his future until he has effectively discharged his duties.

"I have an uncompleted mandate as a General Secretary. The most difficult aspect of that tenure is where you prepare and run elections from branch to national level. I have not done that yet. I am going to be the signatory to the regulations that govern elections from branch to national and in those regulations, there are strict conditions about campaigning ahead of time. So I am not going to talk about my future until I discharge my responsibility that I have within the NDC.", Asiedu Nketsia explained.
