One of the anticipated internal elections, aside the Presidential primaries, is the Ashanti Regional Party Executives election. Obviously, the Ashanti Region is the vote bank of the New Patriotic Party. Thus, much attention is always directed towards the individuals who lead the party. Initially, many people predicted that the incumbent Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, will have a landslide victory.
However, many pollsters have disclosed that that will not be the case since several delegates have began pushing for a change in leadership and as such, massively supporting the main contenders of Chairman Wontumi. Obviously scared of the prospect of losing, Chairman Wontumi and his team has rooted a large signboard on the street of Ashanti Region.
The inscription on the poster described Chairman Wontumi as the man who will break the eight for the New Patriotic Party. The motto for the campaign for Chairman Wontumi was, "It is a movement. Stronger than Apathied"

This got Ghanaians to massively react.
