Founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev Isaac Owusu-Bempah says he is angry at President Akuffo-Addo and his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for the role they played in his arrest last year.
Rev Isaac Owusu-Bempah and 6 others were arrested and slapped with 11 counts of criminal offenses in September 2021 for attacking Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, formerly known as Nana Agrada, at her Sowutuom home in Accra.
Recounting the arrest, however, the Rev Minister says he does not understand why a president he has suffered so much for and put his life on the line for will disgrace him in that matter.
He further adds that the "order from above" that was given to the police for his arrest caused him a great deal of harm.
"As for me, I'm pained by Akuffo-Addo. That order from above that caused me to be handcuffed to a bed gave me a shock
"People came to my premises and fired shots, my pastors were arrested and i was following up, why was I arrested? I hadn't physically assaulted anyone, why was I arrested? I got shocked”, he stated.
"I was sent to police hospital and while a drip was on me in a bed, I was handcuffed to the bed in the name of order from above. Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia were in the know and Dampare was doing such things, he said.
In spite of the neglect, he says, the President and his vice called on his birthday to wish him well.
"Afterward, you call wishing me a happy birthday. You know what.....All your promises you have failed to fulfil, yet you allow for me to be arrested despite being the one at the receiving end of the abuse and hurled before court.
One day, I will speak out. How I suffered because of Nana Akuffo-Addo, I put my life in my hands, whenever I am going about, people follow me with guns and cars. You became president and after getting what you want, thrashed me. Is this how I should be disgraced? He asked.
Rev Owusu-Bempah is purportedly the spiritual father of President Akuffo-Addo and he has on many occasions claimed credit for the president's electoral victory in both 2016 and 2020 elections.
His relationship with the President dates back to many years ago, but now that rapport between them seems soured with his arrest a year ago.
