The former president and flagbear of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has failed to agree with the ruling of the supreme court. The Supreme court on 4th March 2021 disclosed the 2020 presidential election petition filed by John Mahama, reading out the judgement in supreme court, the chief justice stated that there is no reason to order the electoral commission to organise a Runoff election as requested by the petitioner in his case of petition.
John Mahama finally speaks after the supreme court ruling, the NDC has disagreed with the ruling by the supreme court, speaking in a press conference held at the NDC headquarters on 4th March 2021, Mahama stated clearly that "As much as I am aware that we are legally bound by the decisions of the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court of Ghana, I disagree with the process of the trial and the ruling of the Supreme Court. Justice is rooted in moral foundation."
A US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kelvin Taylor, who is popularly known for his political comments on social media tell Ghanaians to pray for John Mahama for making things calm, because he could have made a statement to ignite conflict in the country after disagreeing with the supreme court but as non Violent person as he is, Mahama made nothing like that but rather made things calm and Ghanaians are to respect him for that.
John Mahama is not happy with the ruling of the supreme court but for the sake of love he has for Ghana and his supporters, he had no choice rather than keeping things calm, he said.
