The general secretary at the office of the presidency, Eugene Arhin has ordered the secretary of the Trade Union Congress Dr Yaw Baah to apologize to the first and second spouses for false publication.
According to Eugene Arhin, the statement by Dr Yaw Baah is detrimental to the personality of the first and second spouses.
In Dr Yaw Baah's statement issued, he said
“Salary arrears dated back to January 2017 have since been paid to the wives of President Akuffo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia, in accordance with the Committee’s recommendation which was approved by NDC and NPP Members of Parliament.” this statement was contained in Dr Yaw Baah's reaction to the payment of the allowance to the first and second spouses.
This statement according to Eugene Arhin at the office of the presidency is false and therefore he ought to do the needful by apologizing to them.
"This is what the TUC General Secretary, Dr. Yaw Baah, said in a statement dated 11th July 2021. Clearly he was wrong.
Can he, therefore, do the needful and apologize to the First and Second Ladies for this false statement?" Eugene Arhin said.
