President Akuffo-Addo has appointed Lariba Zuweira Abudu as new minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.

This comes after Lawyer Adwoa Safo was sacked from the role by the President after she abandoned her Job for close to a year to attend to family issues in the United State of America.

Ms Lariba Abudu, who is also the Member of Parliament for Walewale, before her latest appointment was the Deputy Minister for the Ministry.
A statement issued by the director of Communication at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, says the appointment is subject to parliamentary approval. She replaces Hon. Adwo Safo who has been out of the country for quite some time.
"President Akuffo-Addo in accordance with Article 88 of the Constitution has appointed Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon Lariba Zuweira Abudu, the Member of Parliament for Walewale, as Minister designate for the Gender, Children and Social Protection"' the statement said.
