The heat is on ahead of the much-anticipated general election which will be held on 7th December 2020 to elect the president and the 275 members of Parliament by Ghanaians. Usually, a debate is organized for the two biggest parties' Presidential candidates to tell the electorate the messages in their manifestos and also punch holes in each other's campaign messages to the general public.
However, this year is becoming quite different from that usual because the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party has been running away from the debate ahead of the 2020 general election. The former President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has invited the leader of the NPP for election 2020 and the President of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo on several occasions but the party has turned it down.
Fresh one coming is that Ghanaian movie producer Socrate Sarfo who campaigned massively for the NPP ahead of the 2016 election has decided to turn down the invitation from the Chairman of GHAMRO and legendary Highlife musician Rex Omar. Rex Omar and Baba Sadiq who is the CEO of 3Music Awards has been selected by the biggest opposition party in Ghana NDC to speak on the creative art industry ahead of the 2020 election.
Kwame A-Plus, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The People's Project(TPP) has reacted to the issue by posting "Liers don't remember what they said so they fear debate more than coronavirus. If you know you know". - Kwame A Plus posted this on his Facebook page with the image above.
