Check this mind provoking Write-up on E-Levy in Ghana

Tax which is a mandatory compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed on a taxpayer by a organization in order to fund government spendings and various public expenditures. A failure to pay in a timely manner, along with evasion of or resistance to taxation, is punishable by law.

Ghanaians are in dilema if the tax increament on mobile money transaction in the proposed 2022 budget will take effect in their daily savings.

Why should our struggling market women who rely heavily on Momo have their meagre capital taxed so heavily by a government that does nothing for them? This is injustice. It's the worst form of cruelty and wickedness I have ever seen the ruling class exact on the poor. And I'm highly disappointed in all of you who allowed this to happen. If our country is broke, let us live within our means.

Nothing hurts me more than injustice to the voiceless. Why should I pay tax to the government on my salary and then when I send money to my mum in the village to pay her medical bills I pay another e-levy just so a bunch of useless and clueless idiots in Accra can drink expensive champagne, fly luxury jets and sleep in expensiv

e hotels with their girlfriends?

a. Let's stop buying V8s for everyone in public office.

b. Let's trim down the government and cut down on expensive foreign trips.

c. Let's stop sole-sourcing contracts to party cronies and let's clean the wage bill.

d. Let's stop doing stupid things like appointing a Director General for the Keta Sea Port which doesn't even exist. Keta itself might not exist for much longer without a sea defence wall. Democracy doesn't mean simply changing the ruling party every 4 or 8 years. Merkel led Germany for 16 years. Netanyahu led Israel for 15. And these are democracies. Democracy means making governance work for the people. What we have in Ghana is not a democracy.
