Things took a dramatic turn as Johnny Hughes, regular host of Multimedia TV3’s New Day engaged Kwame Agbodza, MP for Adaklu and Dennis Aboagye, former MCE of Akuapem North. Yesterday it can be recalled the Minister for Food and Agriculture granted a press conference where he spoke about the feats of the Akufo-Addo government in that sector.
On the New Day show today, Monday, August 30, 2021, Johnny Hughes queried why Ghana which claims to have abundance in food is having areas where people are starving of food. Johnny asked Dennis Aboagye where the Dams that the NPP promised are. According to Johnny, there were areas where the dams had been washed away and questioned from Dennis where they are.
Dennis disagreed and maintained that the dams are still there and that Johnny’s arguments were unfounded. Johnny then took the conversation to another level where he asked Dennis to show him where the dams are and this got Dennis arguing that how he was to know that. How can you bring me here Monday morning 7am and ask me to name where the dams are” Dennis queried?
Viewers then sent in texts to name places were the dams were missing or areas that were promised dams but they never came. Johnny then sought to end the argument but Dennis wanted to clear the air that it was appalling to bring him into the studio and try to disgrace him.
“Johnny, you like doing that. I have been watching you. You can’t keep doing that. Tell me the question that I have not answered. You didn’t tell me I was going to do that? Which information? The minister gave the information you needed. How can I walk into TV3 and an issue comes up and you ask me to name dams in the Upper East?” Dennis explained.
As Johnny ended the show abruptly, he made one simple statement, “Dennis, you will answer questions, whether morning or evening. And please if you are a communicator don’t come here if you are not prepared.
