Check Out What Dr. Bawumia Wrote About Ghana's Digital Economy Before He Became Vice President

Many Ghanaians have trolled Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a man who claims to have all the answers to the challenges of the Ghanaian economy. They argued that it appears the Vice President has forgotten his economic agenda as he is now pursuing digitalization. As many Ghanaians can remember, Alhaji Dr Mahama Bawumia before he became Vice President in 2017 threw a challenge to the ruling government's Vice President, Dr Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur.

The challenge was for them his 170 economic questions about the Ghanaian economy but they couldn't. About five years down the line, some Ghanaians seem to 'mock' Bawumia for his economic bluffing when he was in opposition. Ex-President John Dramani Mahama recently mocked him saying that he (Mahamudu Bawumia) can say anything he wants with the Ghanaian economy but the lives of the people will continue to expose him.

But to really understand Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's push for the digitalization agenda (Digital Economy), one needs to take a critical look at the conclusions in his famous book. He introduced this book when he was a visiting scholar at the Oxford Univesity, England. The title of the book is Monetary Policy and Financial Sector Reform In Africa. This book was published in 2010, seven years before he became Vice President of the land.

In the conclusion part of this economic book, the Vice President talked about the Unique Identification Numbers for the population. For every economy to develop, there must be some fundamentals already existing and working perfectly and thus unique numbers. This has been perfectly executed by the Vice President.

The conclusion part of the book also talked about a digital address system. This has also been implemented by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The truth of the matter is Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia knows what he doing. To make the economy of the country work, the digitization system of the country has to work in other to monitor every transaction.

That is exactly what he is doing. So the issue of the Vice President changing his economic dream for digitization is not true. Digitization and the Economy of a country move together. The man knows his onions and what Ghana needs. He is pursuing his recommendations in the book as Vice President.
