President Akufo-Addo has released the list of Deputy Ministers to help him realise his 2020 campaign promises. Most of the Deputy Ministers are from the Ashanti Region, which is not surprising as the New Patriotic Party relied on the votes from that Region to hold on to power.
The list was thoroughly discussed on Asempa FM's current affairs programme Ekosii Sen this afternoon, Thursday 15th April, 2021, with the usual host OB.
One listener of the programme sent a text message inquiring about why his Member of Parliament, Honourable Patrick Yaw Boamah was not given a Deputy Ministerial Appointment.
OB's Co-host replied by saying that your Member of Parliament is the current Vice-chairman of the finance committee in Parliament. He then stated that, being a vice chairman of the finance Committee is more mouthwatering than being a Deputy Minister.
He said, " James Klutse Avedzi was more powerful than a cabinet minister. I covered Parliament from the year 2013-2016, I realised that, he (James Klutse Avedzi) the then chairman of the finance committee was very powerful as he was the one who sent Government loan agreement details to the floor of Parliament".
"I saw cabinet ministers responding to James Klutse Avedzi's call without hesitation" he added.
