Political Science Lecturer at University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo has condemned the recommendation of emoluments committee to place the wives of President Akufo-Addo and Vice-president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on monthly salaries the same as Cabinet Ministers.
The renowned Lecturer has admonished that there is nothing like the office of the first and second lady. Adding that most civilians even doesn't know the actual work of Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia, so why the payment.
According to him, a lot of graduates has completed the University but no job for them, they are calling on the government to FixTheCountry, instead of finding various strategies to solve the problem of the country, they are rather thinking about payment of wives of President and Vice-President.
Speaking on Peace FM, disclosed that the incumbent government don't have political strategy. Because citizens have voted for about seven months and up to date they haven't form the government. They haven't done with the appointment of DCE's, MCCE's etc.
He advised the government if they want to pay first and second lady, it must introduce a bill to that effect. Again, they should explain the work of President and Vice-President spouses so that their activities will be budgeted for.
