The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has recently sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms after donating over Ghs 100, 000 to support the final funeral rite of the Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia’s mother funeral.
The unexpected demise of the Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia on the 13th of September, 2021 came as a surprise to most Ghanaians as individuals never expected to witness such heartbreaking news at that time.
With respect to this, the Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia recently took the privilege to visit his hometown, Walewale in other to pay his last respect to his deceased mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia.
In attendance at the most anticipated ceremony was the chief Imam, President Akufo-Addo, government officials, politicians, representatives of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and just to mention but a few.
Even though most prominent individuals like the former President, John Mahama and others took the privilege to donate money to support the Vice President’s mother funeral, an unexpected donation by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has sparked massive reactions online.
Speaking on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu at the final funeral rite of the late, Hajia Mariama Bawumia, Nana Nkansah Boadu made it clear that, aside the schnapps, goats and other related gifts, the Asantehene and the entire Asante kingdom was privilege to donate an amount of Ghs 100K to support the final funeral rites of the Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia’s mother funeral.
Aside the Ghs 100K and schnapps donated to support the Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia’s mother funeral, the younger brother of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Nana Otuo Siribuo also took the privilege to donate an amount of Ghs 40K to support the final funeral rite of the late, Hajia Mariama Bawumia.
May her souls rest in perfect peace and all our condolences goes to the entire family and friends.
