Should Mahama Appoint You As A Judge, Will That Make You An NDC Judge? - Edudzi Tamakloe Queried

The comments and analysis made by the Honorable Member of Parliament for the Afigya Kwabre North constituency, Honorable Collins Adomako Mensah, have proven that the former President, John Dramani Mahama, is setting very dangerous precedence with his judicial comments. Speaking on the Good Morning Ghana show today, Collins Adomako Mensah explained that it was very unfortunate for someone like Mahama to make such a comment.

According to him, he would not have had problems if the Former President had done that game with the New Patriotic Party. However, Collins Adomako believed that the judiciary must be kept as a sacred institution where political comments must not be directed to.

He cited a clear example that his co-panelist, Edudzi Tamakloe, based on his excellence and competence as a lawyer, can be appointed as a High Court judge, should the NDC win power. He explained that based on the comments made by John Dramani Mahama and this precedence laid by Mahama, then anyone will have the right to call Edudzi a political judge and that should not be the case.

"Political parties always meet to make arguments. We should ensure that political institutions must be kept sacred. Anytime there is a disagreement between us, that is where we go to. If we are not careful, we will fall into trouble. My friend Edudzi Tamakloe is a fantastic lawyer. Sometimes he goes to the Supreme Court, as young as he is, to argue his case and he wins. Can you imagine if John Mahama comes into power, touchwood, and he appoints Edudzi as a High Court judge, do I have to necessarily interpret it to mean that he is an NDC judge"

However one can view this from a different viewpoint. Mahama, who was once a former President, knows what the Judiciary entails and what the National security issues entail. Thus, for him to make such a comment, should mean that we as a country must take it seriously. Mahama explained that Nana Addo has blinded his eyes to the observation made by the National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah, about the recent unanimous rulings. Thus, it is obvious that even the President is nonchalant about the issue at hand.
