Assembly Member for Kambali electoral area, Mr. Masahudu Adam has referred to a pile of rubbish close to Kambali Goil Fuel Station as unfortunate and blamed the residents of that area for the unhealthy act. According to the Assembly Man, he had lobbied for a container for refuse to be kept inn but residents opted to dump refuse on the ground instead of the container, this according to him resulted in Zoomlion Company relocating the container to a different electoral area.
Explaining further, he admitted having a discussion with the Municipal environment officer who promised to partner with him in getting the issue addressed. He called for collective responsibility in getting the issue addressed to avoid residents from contracting diseases.
The Assembly Member has also referred to the recent interruption of power supply in the region as unfortunate and unhealthy as people are exposed to Cerebrospinal Meningitis in the season of March. According to him, the month is mostly very warm and as result many people rely on fans in their rooms for air, he explained that in the absence of this, people sleep amidst the warm weather which is highly likely to bring about CSM.
