It is said in Akan that "someone does not buy a gin to bless his enemy". However, the tides have turned in a rather sarcastic manner between Captain Smart and the people who have made it their priority to bring him down. It is known fact that the men of the New Patriotic Party, the ruling political party in Ghana currently, especially Hopeson Adorye and Owusu Bempah, have launched a series of attacks of different forms towards the renowned journalist, after the #fixthecountry demonstration, for his line of journalism.
With several alleged exposes of the alleged acts criminal acts of the journalist, Captain Smart has chosen not to respond. To make matters worse, the two founders of the counter "fixthecountry" group called "fixingthecountry" group have resorted to court action in an attempt to bring him down. But through all and all, he has chosen to focus on bringing the government onto the path of nation building.
The more interesting scenario on Onua TV this morning, Monday 16th August 2021, was that, rather than attacking back in their own coin, Captain Smart praised Ernest Owusu Bempah and Hopeson Adorye for what they are doing against him. "Somebody should tell Owusu Bempah the 'aboa aponkye' and Hopeson Adorye that I love what they are doing. They should never stop doing it, because it is helping me. I will be very disappointed if they stop it", Captain concluded.
