Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Finally Reacts To The Rejection Of The 2022 Budget

The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has finally reacted to what happened in Parliament yesterday. Speaking to Dzifa Bampoh on the Key Points TV3, the honorable member of Ofoase Ayirebi recounted the events prior to the alleged rejection of the budget. He explained that the means through which the Minister of Finance was sacked by an order of the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin was unprecedented and unwarranted. He did not speak about the presence of the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia.

Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made some clarifications about the way forward. He was of the same view as Honorable K T Hammond, Member of Parliament of the Asokwa constituency; that the budget was unconstitutionally rejected. According to him, the number required for the budget to be constitutionally rejected or accepted is an absolute majority which in arithmetic terms, at least 138. Thus, he believed that the NPP leadership in Parliament could call for a review of the budget.
