The managing editor for insight news paper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has questioned the New Patriotic Party government that if they say the economy is good why did parliament reject the 2022 budget presented before parliament.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr speaking on Pan African TV Alhaji and Alhaji show today stated that when they keep telling NPP government about Ghana's economy, they thought that they are doing propaganda but the reality has surface for every Ghanaian to see who they keep telling Ghanaians lies everyday about the economy.
He stated that when they told government that Ghanaians are not happy with their leadership style they thought they hate them just because they see them among opposition people.
He stated on the show that Ghana is getting into a deep hole and this is the time government must reverse decisions that may not help the country and put measures in place and listen to the masses than saying they have the men.
He said government must stop borrowing and restructure things very well else they will face a lot of difficulties. According to him, there is no statement in the budget rejected that indicates that government is placing the economy into the hands of Ghanaians to give them freedom.
He questioned that what is the benefiting of keeping 98% of Ghana's wealth abroad and tax Ghanaians by introducing E-Levy?
He said parliament rejecting 2022 budget is a sign of weakness in government. He said they must have broader consultation and rework on the budget than going to supreme court.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr said government can only make the budget passed if they withdrawn Agyapa deal, E-Levy and come to agreement with minority on something they raise else they can't pass it.
