Speaking on Joynews program “The Probe”, Honourable Joseph Osei Owusu… popularly known as Joe Wise said that, it is so regular for members to leave the committee; adding that, members do leave the committee, and new ones are appointed to replace them, and that, it doesn’t matter from which side a member leaves, or to which side a new member is appointed to… all that the appointment committee needs is a quorum.
When asked by the host-Emefa Apawu, on how Honourable Okudzeto Ablakwa’s resignation will affect the vetting committee, Joe Wise, explained that, the Appointment Committee still has 25 other members, and that, even if Okudzeto Ablakwa is not replaced, the committee can still work; and if he is replaced, the committee continues its business.
Talking about his work as the chairman of the Appointment Commitment; when asked how different this new Appointment Committee is his from the previous once he had chaired, Honourable Joe Owusu explained that, chairing this new committee for the last few months, he has consistently and deliberately overlook many things which otherwise he should have ‘put his foot down’.
Honourable Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, is the First Deputy Speaker of Ghana’s 8th Parliament, and also the Member of Parliament for the Bekwai Constituency.
Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the member of Parliament for North Torngu, in the Volta Region, recently resigned from the appointment committee…but giving no reasons for his resignation.
