Things took a turn on Metro TV’s political talk show ‘Good Morning Ghana’ today, Friday, March 26, 2021 as the panelists talked about Akufo-Addo’s free SHS. A texter, Kwesi Biney sent in a message that got Nana Akomea fuming and seeking for answers.
In the text read by Randy Abbey the host, Kwesi bemoaned the feeding in boarding schools.
“Are you aware that our teens in SHS take ‘kooko’ without bread for breakfast? It did not begin with free SHS but a failure on our part” Kwesi Biney said.
“Which school is that?” Nana Akomea said. I wish he had mentioned the school. The matter should be zeroed in because they are supposed to be provided with bread. So if there is a school that is not providing bread the school should be called out. I don’t support this. The one responsible should be called out so we find out why this is happening” Nana Akomea explained.
There have been many complaints about the current Free Senior High system. Many have argued that it is not entirely free while others have bemoaned the feeding and double track system. According to the critics of the government the government is failing to live by its promises and the crumbling nature of the economy is making the free feeding difficult to maintain.
