The National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Sammy Gyamfi caused stir with his 'betrayal' comment after the Minority Caucus led by Haruna Iddrisu approved the first ministerial nominees of Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo.
The highly outspoken politician singled out the Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu, the Chief Whip Muntaka Mohammed and even the Speaker of the House to call them 'betrayers' who betrayed the collective good of the party for their parochial interest.
To Sammy Gyamfi, the approval of some of the ministerial nominees like Mavis Hawa Koomson as the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister was never in the interest of the ordinary Ghanaian people and therefore the Minority Caucus should have rejected her nomination.
The wounded Sammy Gyamfi can't fathom why the House could give approval to a woman who carries a gun and fires it at a polling station and even doesn't care if lives are lost.
He further stated emphatically clear that, "I don't want people to feel sad for my action but a woman like Hawa Koomson couldn't even give out the meaning of fish farming and therefore she doesn't fit to be called a minister.
Sammy Gyamfi in his knowledge thinks Hawa Koomson's nomination should have been disapproved by the Speaker of the House and also the Minority Caucus for she is not a state person to be given such a mandate.
Sammy Gyamfi is undoubtedly a good communicator in the political scene right now but sometimes his choice of words are too abusive. His 'betrayal' comment on the Speaker of the House and the Minority Caucus is against article 122 of the constitution and he could be summoned for contempt.
What's your take on this issue? Is Sammy Gyamfi right in his disappointment towards the approval of Hawa Koomson as the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister?
