The election petition hearing has come a long way with a lot of controversy, funny and inspiring stories.

Dr. Ayine, one of NDC's legal spokesperson came under fire after he made some contemptuous comments about the Supreme Court.

This followed after the ruling given by the Supreme Court over one of the reviews the legal team of the petitoner John Dramani Mahama presented to the court. In an interview that he was granted, Dr. Ayine said that the decisions of the Bench of the Supreme Court was predetermined.

Most people ignored this statement until the minister designate for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah brought the statement into the limelight.

Today, Dr. Ayine was brought before the Supreme Court to be judged for those contemptuous statements. After the case was opened, Dr. Ayine apologized to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Ghana for the contemptuous statements he had made. The bench deliberated over the matter for a while before giving it's verdict.

The Chief Justice, His Lordship Anin Yeboah asked Dr. Ayine to retract the statement on the same medium he had used to disseminate the information.

The lawyer for the guilty party accepted the verdict in good faith. Dr. Ayine was also commanded to carry out the order before Thursday 25th February, 2021.
