Manage your temper, you have great future – Haruna to Napo

Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has advised Minister-designate for Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to manage his anger and be watchful how he speaks about people in the country.

The Tamale South official told his partner addressing Manhyia South during his confirmation by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Friday, February 12, that he has incredible potential in front of him subsequently, should be aware of how he holds himself when incited.

Mr. Iddrisu's remarks come after the chosen one occupied with a warm chat with North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who looked to discover from him why he offered certain remarks in the past that were considered as affronts to previous Minister of Education Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman who is Dr. Opoku Prempeh's archetype at the Education Ministry.

Mr. Iddrisu said "when the Honorable Ablakwa and Suhuyini were addressing you, I was not especially content with your mind-set. Disposition since the examination of this nature as seen by one senator is to take a gander at the information on the topic, IQ, personality, and administration to the Ghanaian public.

“You don’t need to comment on this, it is a bit of personal advice to you. My mother said that each morning I should pray for my tongue. So I will leave it there, learn to pray for your tongue, and learn to manage your mood and temperament because there is some potential ahead of you as a young person.

“I don’t think that we should be using those strong words. In the view of Professor Oquaye, the political class will want to say something about a former Head of State and former Minister of State and we use language that when the public disrespect us we wonder who has sold us cheap to the public. So, pray for your tongue.

“I just think that you should be able to manage it, you didn’t need to be provoked.”

Reacting to the advice, the outgoing Education Minister said “Thank you Minority leader, I take the advice for all of us.”
