The Government Would Not Shield Anyone Found To Be Responsible. Says Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

On Friday, July 2, 2021, Ghana's Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and its Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, visited the protesting youth whose lives were taken by military personnel. According to a report by, Vice-President Bawumia insisted that the government would not shield anyone found to be responsible for the Ejura incident that claimed the lives of the two protesting youths. Sheik Aremeyaw Shaibu and the Ashanti regional minister Simon Osei Mensah were also members of the delegation.

They contributed to a project by the Ejura Traditional Authority aimed at building a Police Divisional Headquarters. The visit was in response to a directive by President Akufo-Addo to undertake a public inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the latest killings in Ejura, which also left four persons severely injured on Tuesday, June 29. Earlier this week, abled young men were filmed dragging Ibrahim 'Kaaka' Mohammed's mother away after she collapsed during a meeting with Ghana's Minister of Interior on Thursday following the president's directive. Minister of Interior Ambrose Dery visited Ejura Sekyedumase to comfort the family of Kaaka, who passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021.
