We Will Also Give Men 14.5% Representation When A Woman Becomes The President - Nana Yaa Jantuah

The percentage of women in the 8th Parliament of Ghana is approximately 14%. Coincidentally, the percentage of women shortlisted for appointment as MMDCES by President Akufo Addo is also 14.5%.

Reacting to these statistics on 'ALHAJI & ALHAJI' on Pan Africa television yesterday, 25th September 2021, the General Secretary of the CPP, Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah, has indicated that whenever a woman becomes the President of Ghana, they will also give men a 14.5% representation in government.

According to Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah, the women are promising the men in this country that there will be a female President in Ghana one day whether they like it or not. It will happen, and that is where they will see the difference between men and women in power.

She indicated whether the terrain is poor or rugged, the women in this country will emerge from male dominance, and that is where they will see that they can cross the 14.5% that the men have pegged for women.

"I remember one day we were having a meeting at the Flagstaff House. When I got there, the Policeman looked at me when I wrote my name and said; "so, you are the one, a short woman like you, and you are so troublesome." From there, I started wearing high heels to enhance my height. I have been there, so I Know what the men can do."

She revealed that it is time the men give women the opportunities because when they become Presidents of this country, they will also give them 14.5% representation in their governments.

"This 14.5% that they've been giving to women is a calculated attempt to keep us down. A time has come for the government to create an enabling environment for the women to operate because women are strong and intuitive."

Nana Yaa Jantuah added that if President Akufo Addo had some women around him, he wouldn't be flying in luxurious rented private jets.
