He says the party foot soldiers have a lot of needs and he has to prepare enough to assist. Mr. Kwame Bafo Abronye was speaking in an interaction on NET 2 Television’s The Seat Show.
According to the maverick chairman, he has suffered for the New Patriotic Party but some individuals are enjoying mouthwatering appointments with juicy wages.
A disappointed Kwame Bafo Abronye was commenting on the brouhaha at the National Lottery Authority that has taken over the media space for some time now.
He says even though the leadership of the party is spending a lot of money on the upkeep of foot soldiers, ordinary individuals are enriching themselves through positions they don’t deserve.
“It is a fact that whenever I go and tour my constituency, I spend in the excess of 40,000 GHS every week on party foot soldiers. I’m telling you this for a fact. You can ask every Member of Parliament in the country. They spend a lot of money whenever they go for visiting in their constituencies”. He noted with anger.
He adds that this is the time to speak out before matters get out of hand in the NPP. Mr. Kwame Bafo Abronye adds that appointments must be given to people who are helping the development of the party and not the other way around.
“Our grassroots are suffering and appointments have been given to some persons who do not even deserve it. We must not allow that to happen in the party anymore. We will not suffer to campaign for the party and someone will be earning over 20,000 GHC a month when they don’t do anything for party foot soldiers. If we want to keep quiet, things will get out of hand. People are enjoying and we are here suffering”. He noted.
