You Come And Sit Here And Lie Through Your Teeth; Mohammed Awal Boldly Tells NDC Executive On TV

It was an interesting spectacle this morning on TV3 when two communicators from the NPP and the NDC met today to discuss some topical matters in the country.

As usual, when members of these two major political parties meet, there is bound to be some "fireworks" and "spitting of venom" because they are almost always bound to disagree.

Abass Nurudeen, the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress and Mohammed Awal, the Public Relations Officer of the Youth Employment Agency were on TV3's Newday show today, October 8, 2021, to discuss issues of unemployment among others.

The issue of unemployment is gradually becoming a worry a danger to society as captured by a report by the National Security Ministry as well as the World Bank and the UN.

In the course of discussions, Abass Nurudeen revealed on the show that the NDC government, employed seventy-three thousand (73,00) nurses before exiting office in 2017. He indicated that despite the IMF conditionalities that froze employment in the public sector but excluded the health sector, the NDC government did very well to provide employment to a considerable number of people including the nurses.

Responding to this claim, Mohammed Awal of the NPP said Abass Nurudeen was lying on National TV. He indicated that it was rather the NPP government that has employed a lot of nurses.

" Abass Nurudeen sat here to lie through his teeth and say that they employed 73,000 nurses. 2015, 2016 and 2017 nurses were employed in April 2017. These are matters of public records. In 2017, they came here to demonstrate that they completed education in 2015 and were not employed. How many exits training colleges in a year that you claim you employed 73,000?" he quizzed.

Mohammed Awal also indicated that the government is putting in measures to ensure that NABCO employees get permanent employment.
