The Managing Director (MD) of State Housing Company(SHC), Kwabena Ampofo Appiahhas commended the Omanehene of Sefwi Wiaswso Traditional area in the Western Region for gifting five hundred thousand acres of land to the company for the construction of affordable estates for the people of the region.
The MD took the opportunity to thank the Omanehene Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II for gifting large tract of lands to the company for free of charge.
Whereas some chiefs are helping the operations of SHC others are also creating problems for us with all manner of legal tussles he stressed.
The MD of SHC made this disclosure in an interview with Chairman-General Kwame Sefa Kayi on Accra-based Peace FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Kokorokooo.
’ With properties located all over the country, SHC holds up Its mandate to provide quality and affordable housing to all Ghanaians he added.
The MD took the opportunity to thank the chiefs and people of Western North Region for the honour done the company.
He gave the assurance that very soon work will begin on the said land for the people of the region to have a feel of the homes of SHC.
According to him, State Housing Company (SHC) is keen on delivering on social housing for many Ghanaians across the country.
'We are poised on delivering social housing for the ordinary Ghanaians to catch up with the housing deficit in the country he said.
He was quick to add that SHC does not calculate its profit like the private sector hence SHC houses being on the low side to enable the ordinary the Ghanaian afford houses in the country.
'We have reduced the cost of our houses to enable the ordinary working Ghanaian to also afford a decent house he said.
He minced no words to say that SHC has transformed over the past three years as a limited liability company and leading the chart in the delivery of social housing in the country.
He said the company now has properties made up of two-bedrooms, three-bedrooms apartments and four-bedroom houses in North Kaneshie, Adenta, Borteyman all in the Greater Accra Region, J. A. Kufour estates in the Ashanti Region, Sunyani in the Bono Region and Asokore in the Eastern Region.
