A young in a tie has been heavily criticized for refusing to use a nearby footbridge just a few meters from where he wrongly cross the road. The Ghana Police Service has arrested countless people for this attitude but it appears some Ghanaians still feel lazy in using overhead bridges.
These footbridges are made for our safety and if the government had refused to construct one at this location, this same gentleman will lament bitterly against the government. There are certain things President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his associates cannot fix for Ghanaians and thus our attitude.
If this gentleman had been knockdown by a car whiles cross the road, some Ghanaians would have blamed the government meanwhile authorities have done well to construct a footbridge for pedestrians. Laziness cannot be tolerated in a country where the citizens are calling on the government to fix the country.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has a role to play but the attitude of this young man is not one of them. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is only responsible for constructing roads, schools, hospitals, paying salaries, creating jobs, building factories but fixing the habits of Ghanaians is not part. For the government to #FixTheCountry, we need to #FixOurSelves in some of this attitude.
Check out comments from some Ghanaians on Facebook:
A Facebook user known as Manuel Ofosu Yeboah said that "Can the President fix this country with this type of attitude. The annoying thing is, he is in a flying tie?". This is probably a Ghanaian graduate who has completed University and taught a lot of moral values while in school.
Another Facebook user known as Henry Owusu Ansah also reacted that "Many Ghanaians are asking the President the fix the country, what can the President do about this man's attitude".
