I'm Disappointed In The NPP And The NDC For Failing To Condemn This Humiliation

The former deputy general secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahene has reacted to the recent arrest and prosecution of the Ellembelle DCE, Kwasi Bonzo.

Speaking on Okay FM this morning, Nana Obiri Boahene clearly revealed that he is disappointed in the NPP as well as the NDC. The reason is that no one in these political parties came out to condemn the arrest of the Ellembelle DCE.

According to Nana Obiri Boahene, the DCE did nothing wrong and he is very surprised that no government appointee has come out to condemn this humiliation. Nana Obiri Boahene added that the DCE was the one protecting the lands from illegal mining activities. He added that if the DCE, who is in charge of all the lands in the area is arrested, who will the citizens report galamsey activities to.

He sent strong message to the Ghana Police Service, as well as all government appointees, including members of the NDC to come out and condemn what the Ghana Police did to Kwasi Bonzo.

"The DCE was arraigned before court. He is the head of security at the area. I was expecting that both the NPP and the NDC would have come out now to condemn this humiliation the police gave to the DCE. Which party has come out to condemn this humiliation. Which MP, which parliament, which minister has come out. If they treated the DCE like this, how will the people come out and report galamsey practices in the area" he said.
