According to reports, which the majority leader himself has confirmed, the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has asked for a leave of extension from the Speaker of Parliament to be away from Parliamentary business for some more weeks.
“What I can say now is that on Wednesday, she brought a letter, asking for four weeks extension. She explained that her injured child is still responding to treatment. I cannot say whether she is okay herself or not since I am not there with her,” the majority leader said.
He also revealed the letter dated Monday, February 28, was addressed to the Speaker, Alban Sumana Bagbin with him on a copy.
“I cannot say if the Speaker has agreed to the extension or not and I haven’t had any discussions with the Speaker too,” the Parliamentary Affairs Minister added.
However, Kevin Taylor, the host of 'With All Due Respect ' and the Chief Executive Officer of Loud Silence Media took to his Facebook page to say the E-levy, also known as Bawumia tax is now in danger after Adwoa Sarfo asked for leave.
Kevin Taylor looks happy about Adwoa's absence since it will look difficult for the NPP to pass the E-levy without her. If she's left out, the NPP will have 137 MP's (including the independent) and the NDC will also have 137 MP's. If that happens, the E-levy will be rejected.
Do you think Adwoa Sarfo is trying her very best to frustrate the ruling NPP's business in Parliament?
Are you happy like Kelvin Taylor? If you are, type a message in the comment section to thank Adwoa Sarfo.
Do you think the NPP will still be able to pass the E-levy with or without Adwoa Sarfo?
Are you happy like Kevin Taylor as Adwoa Sarfo is making it difficult for the NPP to pass the E-levy?
