Whenever I Meet John Mahama, I Always Leave Feeling Ashamed - Manasseh Azure

An award-winning Ghanaian journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has said, although he was very Critical of John Mahama's government, whenever he meets him, he leaves feeling ashamed because John Mahama treats him as if he has never written anything against him.

Manasseh made this statement on 'THE KEYPOINTS' program on TV3 this morning, 15th May 2021, when he gave his opinion on media freedom in Ghana.

According to him, as a journalist, he didn't have a course to fear for his life no matter how Critical the story was.

"I have had several encounters with former president John Mahama. I was one of the most critical journalists in the Mahama era, but whenever I met Mahama, I leave feeling Ashamed because John Mahama will treat you in a way that will make you feel as though you have never written anything against him." - he said

He added that to the extent that when he wrote a book about John Mahama, he meet him and had conversations with him, and he asked him any question he wanted to ask him.
