The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has stated that Dr Benjamin Kumbour and Ambassador Dan Abodakpi have no intention of breaking away from the NDC. He made this claim on Asempa FM today, Thursday 22nd April, 2021, on Ekosii Sen.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo said that, the Party's leaders have been engaging both Benjamin Kumbour and Ambassador Dan Abudakpi and the result is positive. He said, "they did that in good faith and that would not harm the NDC. both are Part of the Council of Elders and I urge everyone to reduce the attacks. They are not outsides".
"Their intention was not destroy the party. I do not agree that there could be a possible breakaway". They only shared our wish of winning the 2020 election".
He further revealed that, the current leadership taps the knowledge and experience from these Elders.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo believes that he has brought the party together."i think we are stronger and together now. We lost the last election due to circumstances beyond our control. We have put up structures and mechanisms to make our party attractive to the middle and upper class".
He further stated that, he is a king maker does not want talk about who should be elected as the Party's Flagbearer. " I love good things and I will love a good candidate. If Mahama Leads us, it will be fine".
