Honourable Minister Mavis Hawa Koomson who doubles as the member of parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency have proved herself worthy after she was appointed as the Minister of fisheries and aquaculture
Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson's appointment was a talk of town with many describing her as incompetent for the job but since she landed on the grounds, she wmis performing marvelously well.
At a short ceremony yesterday, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson handed over five vehicles (trucks) to award winners of the 2020 National Farmers Day These group of farmers are those at the Fisheries Category.
During the presentation, the Minister affirmed government's commitment to deal comprehensively with one of the key challenges of the sector which had to do with the transportation of fish and fishing products from the landing sites, farms and processing centres to the market as well as fishing inputs and gears from sale point to the landing sites.
Hawa Koomson also encouraged the award winners to put the vehicles to go use and not to park them while it can help increase productivity
The 2020 Farmers' Day Celebration was the 36th edition.
