More MMDCEs get approval of the Assemblies

The various MMDCE nominees for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana have been subjected a constitutional process that is expected to eventually legitimise their appointment.

Ghanaians had expected that the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would have constituted his government in the shortest period of time after his re-election.

However, this was not to be. Over eight(8) months after Nana Addo's re-election he still had not been able to fully constitute his government.

The Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin, had earlier mentioned in a post on Facebook that the President had finalised the list of the MMDCE nominees and had forwarded same to the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development for announcement.

Hon Dan Botwe the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development did announce the nominees in a joint press briefing with Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information.

More of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country continue to confirm people named to Chief Executive positions by the President.

The latest to join the growing list are the Kintampo North, Kwadaso and the Asante-Akim Central Municipalities.

In all these places the Assemblies votes 100 percent yes.

All the 64 members of the Kintampo North Assembly said they supported Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw their MCE.

He vowed to ensure fair distribution of the assembly’ resources.

No part of the municipality would be denied it’s fair share of development under his watch.

At Kwadaso, Richard Agyenim Boateng received the nod to serve another four-year term.

He promised to work with zeal to bring more progress to the area.

A former Presiding Member of the Asante-Akim Central Municipal Assembly is now the substantive MCE.

None of the 35 assembly members said no to his nomination.

He rallied the people to accept to pull together to make life better.
