The New Patriotic Party is gradually losing hold of their potential victory in the upcoming 2024 election. In the run up to the 2016 election, the New Patriotic Party, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia capitalized in the persistent hike in the prices of fuel to make the government unpopular. This was one of the factors that saw to the unprecedented defeat at a higher margin of the National Democratic Congress.
What do we see today in Nana Addo's administration? The price of a litre of fuel under Mahama's administration is on the verge of almost doubling under Nana Addo's administration. As at today, the price of a litre of fuel has crossed the threshold of GHc 7. Now, the price of a litre of fuel is GHc 7.050. This is surprising especially when the NPP is bent on breaking the eight. An NDC communicator, Elikem Kotoko, capitalized on this to tease the NPP that they have now broken the 7 and is now on their way to break the 8.
