The National Democratic Congress NDC holds a press conference at the party head quarters. The opposition party holds the conference aimed the matter between Layer Kwesi Anim Yeboah and kumasi based Layer kwasi Affrifa.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes it will be a good governance for the Chief Justice kwasi Anim Yeboah to step aside to make waves for investigation into alligations of bribery level against him by kumasi based Layer Kwasi Affrifa.
Addressing the media on Tuesday July 2021 at the party's head quarters the General Secretary for the national Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia also demanded the full blow enquiry into the matter as it express doubt in the ability of the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) to do competent job.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the magnitude and the gravity of this matter calls for almost transparent and confidence building which the CID can not master at the moment. We in the NDC hold the view that these alligations have component of criminality. It is in equal measure about alleged misconduct on the part of a judge and as such it will ordinarily fall within the mandate of the judicial service to takes steps to indicate the truth or otherwise about this matter and take disciplinary actions if proven to be true.
We believe that an investigation by the police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will be wooly inadequate to ensure the Ghanaian public that a much more enquiry have been conducted into the matter.
