Welcome to Ghana my country where the criterion for choosing people into public offices is merely determined by the person's competence and knowledge about the work he or she is expected to do but characterized by political affiliations.
It now looks as if the NPP has now been exposed if one considers the statements that are coming from some government appointees.
Ghana is a country meant for all of her citizens and it is inappropriate to deal them with discrimination based which political party they belong to. But according reports, the NIA boss, Professor Kenneth Attafuah in an interview with Angel FM said he is being directed by the president to chip in political unbiasedness when giving employment to Ghanaians to serve their motherland.
There have also been several reports on some NPP loyalist like, Gabby Otchere Darko and Kennedy Agyapong who want Akuffo Addo to sack Prof. Ken Attafuah for making that statement in the public domain. All these will not augur well for Ghana.
For the mere fact that the boss of the National Identification Authority came to the media to state that he is being directed by His excellency to ensure some neutrality in his line of duty is an indication that emphases were placed on choosing citizens to work for mother Ghana at the expense of competence and expertise.
This is one of the reasons for the #Fixthecountry campaign by the youth.
Political neutrality can not be a substitute of anything in matters like this but it is rather unfortunate for all Ghanaians to know about this development.
