You Are Part Of NDC’s Problems; Stop The Blame Game- Sammy Gyamfi Told

The National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress Sammy Gyamfi has been condemned for openly criticizing how the party conducts itself in Ghana’s political space, as compared to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). Some critics who have read about his lamentation on social media say Sammy Gyamfi should equally be held liable for the situation he is complaining about.

The reaction that poured into his post that suggested a paradigm shift from the mainstream politicking as it has been with their rivals; the NPP, had some Ghanaians exclaim that leadership of the NDC are to be blamed, and as such, any anticipated change should emanate from them.

Though Sammy Gyamfi’s posturing in the call was collective, some Ghanaians think the national executive are solely responsible for the problems they are lamenting and charged them to lead the change for the grassroots to emulate.

Desmond Boakye Yiadom was very emphatic in his demands from Sammy Gyamfi. He mentioned that the Communications Officer had persistently made President Akufo Addo his political subject and resultantly lost focus on the need to market the NDC for the next election.

He intimated that it is a wasteful exercise leading a campaign to criticize President Akufo Addo when is not allowed to contest any election after 2024.

Another critic; Ben Dave corroborated Yiadom’s concern. For him, all bore down to leadership. He argued that leaders of the NDC including Sammy Gyamfi are good at commenting on issues but excuse themselves from the real work for a luxurious life.

“Your role is to talk or write to incite supporters. When it comes to the real ‘mungamu’, you will be cooling under your AC,” he retorted.

Ernest Dakyi was very confrontational in his remark as he indicated that Sammy Gyamfi is now realizing his senses. He argues that Sammy Gyamfi had acted ignorantly to political issues in the past, and thus cited his threat to security officers during the 2020 election as ‘useless’.

It is obvious something might have provoked the mental faculties of Sammy Gyamfi to raise these issues on social media. Perhaps it’s just right considering the reconciliation exercise the party has embarked on with John Mahama’s Thank You tour across the country.
