They were granted bail at GH¢100,000 each with surety of Ghana Card. According to report, they are to reappear in court on Tuesday, October 11.

It could be recalled that the chief and his brother were captured in a online video where the two and others were doing some mining activities in their compound. The video went viral and this led to their arrest on Friday, September 16. They were charged for mining without having a license.

Some Ghanaians have reacted to this and below are some comments.

From the reactions above, some Ghanaians believe that the court case will surely go in favour of the chief. Others think otherwise.

Galamsey activities in Ghana are on the rise. A lot of people are destroying trees and water bodies just to get some mineral substances in the soil. The government has served several notices to the public to desist from any form of illegal mining activities but to no avail. It is believed some government officials and chiefs in various communities are into these galamsey activities.
