The Assembly Member for Tangasia in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, Mr. Basungnizie Isaac Justice has stated that Assembly Members do a lot of Work but are not paid for their industriousness and efforts to champion the course of decentralization in the Country.

In an Interview with the Assembly Man at Tangasia, he stated that assembly members attend meetings and they are not even paid sitting allowances with the excuse that there is no money.

He continued that Members of Parliament should pay Assembly Members , even if they give Ghc100 a month.

He continued that people cant compare their responsibilities with MPs, noting that Assembly men can make the work of MPs easy if they accord them the needed respect and appreciation by paying them. He concluded that Assembly members are willing to partner with Members of Parliament in Developing the Various Districts if only they are willing to sacrifice some little cash to spearhead their activities.

The Assembly Member also stated that Assemblies should make motorbikes allocated to Assembly men available before they leave office in order to assist them in effectively carrying out their duties.

In an Interview, he explained that Assembly Members struggle to go round their electoral area to address concerns of the community and as a result a community member nearly lost her life if not for the availability of his personal motorbike he used.
