The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo has finally reacted to the allegations against the Auditor General, Mr. Yaw Domelevo on his retirement age. Akuffo Addo has officially announced the retirement of the embattled Auditor General.
In a statement dated March 3, 2021 and signed by the Head of Communications at the Presidency, the president has expressed his appreciation of Mr. Domelevo's service as the Auditor General of Ghana. The letter noted that, “Based on this information, the President is of the view that you have formally left office."
This follows after allegations made by the Audit Board indicated that Daniel Domelevo has reached his retirement age after returning to work on Monday. Reports also had it that Daniel Domelevo is not a Ghanaian but a Togolese.
These allegations were refuted by Mr. Daniel Domelevo who returned from mandatory 167 day leave. However, the Board forwarded their evidence of grievance to the President for final decision to be made.
