Paul Adom Otchere educated his audience about the 1992 Constitution today. He explained that while benefitting the country for nearly 30 years, the 1992 constitution had flaws. He stated that the President has much too much power under the constitution. He read the section of the constitution that gives the President the authority to select nearly all government officials.
It was not done anywhere in the globe, according to Paul Adom Otchere. Paul described how President Nana Addo addressed the House of Representatives to propose that local authorities (DCEs, MCEs, and Mayors) be chosen on a bipartisan basis. Paul bemoaned how, seemingly out of nowhere, a minority of people who were fully supportive of the idea decided to oppose it.
He called this type of thinking "moribund." Paul Adom Otchere boldly said that he had never seen a President who decided to delegate all of the powers conferred on him by the constitution to the Ghanaian people instead. He declared that Ghana would never have another president like him.
