Kwame A Plus, a popular musician and a political activist has taken to his social media page to ask why Nana Akufo-Addo has gone contrary to his promise of cancelling many taxes.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 28th, January 2022 he said wrote;
"My father, my father, why has thou sakawa us."
A Plus also shared a video of Nana Akufo-Addo's message in 2017. In the video, President Nana Addo said that he want to help individual workers and organizations so that the many taxes taken from them will be cancelled.
" I have started canceling road tolls one by one." Nana Akufo-Addo said to the applauding supporters.
The shared video from A - Plus is a background to the ongoing brouhaha about the E-Levy. The E-Levy is a tax of 1.75% to be paid on mobile money and other electronic transactions if agreed by parliament. Latest update indicates that the Minority group have still rejected amendment made by Ken Ofori-Atta to reduce it from 1.5%.
